Relax and leave the logistics to us! We take care of accommodation, breakfast, lunch stops and our team look after cycle expenses. Participants are asked to achieve a personal fundraising target of at least €1,300. This covers all accommodation and meals and will support people living with sight loss and children with autism. A deposit of €100 secures your place on the Mizen2Malin Cycle.
The cycle, now in its 18th year, was set up by organiser Eamonn Linnane in memory of his late father, Paddy Linnane, a Guide Dog Owner and supporter of Irish Guide Dogs for the Blind. So far, over €1million has been raised for the charity with funds going towards building a puppy block, investing in a male breeding dog as well as contributing to other services offered by the organisation.
This is the only charity cycle in Ireland that is inclusive of people who are visually impaired and this is what makes the cycle so special for all of us.
Our CEO, Padraig Mallon said; “The 99’ers support has been invaluable to us. These cyclists are a great group of people whose generosity has helped many people to lead a more independent life. It costs approximately €38,000 to breed, train and support a single working dog partnership for the duration of its working life yet all services are offered free of charge. Without the fundraising efforts of people like these cyclists, we could not continue our work and we wish them well on their long journey.”
